    Great article!

Our insurance brokerage has a saying “You don’t buy life insurance just with money, but with health!”

Obesity, like smoking, causes your premiums to rise due to the added health risk. Lose the weight, call your broker, and enjoy the extra money!

I would like to get more references in support of reducing insurance premiums on issued policies if and when the insured reduces his weight to normal limits.

    Many thanks

Not many people are aware that things like obesity and smoking can increase your health insurance premiums. Therefore, you might not find many references as not many people would have tried to get this benefit. My advice is that if you have lost a considerable amount of weight or have given up smoking, then get a quote from a competitor and call your insurance agent to get a better deal.

I disagree with the last comment. I think most ARE aware that weight and smoking DO cause your health and life insurance premiums to increase. I agree that most who have lost weight or stopped smoking don’t realize that they can/should talk to their agent to take the steps to get their premium down.
